Walla Walla FHA Tax Credit

Don't miss your chance of a $8,000 tax credit.
The cut off date for the FHA tax credit is December 1st 2009.
Contact your Senators to continue this wonderful program allowing new home buyers
a chance at this tax credit. Your Senators should be pressured to allow a tax credit to all home buyers not just new home buyers. The Federal Government may allow a $15,000 tax credit to anyone buying a home in 2010.
Walla Walla Real Estate sales have soared because of this incentive of the tax credit.

Bicycle safety in Walla Walla

What a great day to enjoy the hot air balloons rising over the skies of Walla Walla to have another wonderful turnout for bicycle safety at Berney School. This is the fourth year that this wonderful event has happened due to a passion for bicycle safety from Mary Ann Duffy of Walla Walla. She was able once again to get volunteers to come together to teach the 100 or so children to ride safer.

Some of the main volunteers would be the Mary Ann Duffy, Dr. Sean Duffy, and the Whitman cycling Team. With my help and Regie from the Bicycle barn we were able to get all the bicycles checked over for loose parts and pieces. We did find that many bicycles had the handle bar stem raised to far over the max height mark as well as seats. We also found loose wheel axle nuts, quick releases, and handle bars. A few bicycles were also found to have non functioning brakes.

After all was said and done we had fixed many bicycles that in time would have got the riders injured.

I want to personally thank Mary Ann for inviting me to help again with this wonderful event. I will look forward to doing it again next year. It is always nice to take part of the day away from my Real estate to help out teaching kids to be safer.

Cycling in Walla Walla

What a great weekend to enjoy Eastern Washington's Weather and the Tour of Walla Walla.

This weekend brought 525 Bicycling racers from all over the U.S to compete in four races held between Downtown Walla Walla, and Waitsburg Washington.

I was able to be the holder during the individual time trial. It is an important job in order to get the racers to have an even start without giving anyone an advantage at the start. Having competed in many Time Trials I knew I had to do it right for the racers sake. What a workout holding all the riders prior to leaving the start. I hope everyone thought that we did out jobs well at the start.

The night critirium downtown was really cool, but was a good challenge to those who have night vision problems. The streets were full of spectators, and racers family members. It was a busy time downtown with the live music from Hot Poop and a lot of young teenagers hanging out. It was the most festive occasion that I have seen in Downtown Walla Walla in a long time.

Everyone that helped out to put on this great Race I want to thank you for your help as it wouldn't have come off as well without your help. I am glad to see that Allegro Bicycle shop owners Steve Raap, and Michael Austin put on another great race.

Local racers from Whitman College, Wheatland Wheelers, and L' Ecole had great success in all races. Congratulations to all of you!

I am looking forward to helping out at the races again next year.

For additional local bicycling information for kids please check out http://www.wallawallabmx.com/

Race season is in full swing so come out and ride.

If you would like to donate to the BMX track please give me a call at 520-7923 and I will get you in touch with the treasurer of the track.

Finding the right home in Walla Walla

What a great time to market your home with interest rates down and home inventories at record highs. These two factors should give you a chance to find the perfect home in Walla Walla for your family.
Finding a realtor that will listen to your needs and will work hard for you is the key to success in finding the right home. If time is of the essence than making sure your agent will listen to your needs is probably the most important factor. Your agent should be able to find you a home that is close to what you want within a few different showings of homes. The one reason they should be able to do this is the question they have you answer.

Questions that are appropriate!
  1. How many bedrooms and baths do you want?
  2. Do you want a master suite with its own bathroom?
  3. How many children do you have living at home?
  4. Do you want to be in a specific school district?
  5. Do you have any animals like dogs or cats?
  6. Do you need a large kitchen for cooking big meals for the family and friends?
  7. Do you like to have friends over for BB Q's?
  8. Do you like to have a basement or a second floor?
  9. How many vehicles do you have currently and will your children be driving soon?
  10. Do you need an extra space for garden?
  11. Where is your job located?
  12. What are your other interests that may help us find the right home. Cycling, golfing, running, , bird watching, shopping, or any other things that interest you?

These Questions are the key in finding the right house quickly and accurately. You don't want to buy a home in the wrong school district for your children or in an area of town that makes it difficult to commute to work.

Stay tuned for the next blog as we will cover negotiating the best price for your buyers.

Although home sales were slower in 2008 than 2007 we will survive the 2009 market due to lower interest rates and a great inventory of homes to choose from.
